Pregnancy
Massage (Prenatal /
Postpartum)
Pregnancy
places strong demands on a woman's body and is a time for the body to be
nurtured and pampered. Massage not only relieves the tensions and aches
caused by the extra weight and shift in the center of gravity to the
body, but it reduces swelling, soothes the nervous system, acts as a
tonic, reduces fatigue, and enhances energy. Massage also relieves
tension and stress as the body adjusts throughout the stages of
pregnancy and after the birth. Specific techniques are applied to benefit mother and baby
and to maintain absolute safety and comfort. This reduces and alleviates
neck, back and joint pain, tension, fatigue and headaches, reduces blood
pressure and soothes nerves to help mom sleep more easily and more
deeply. Regular massage also helps maintain skin elasticity to reduce
stretch marks and uncomfortable tightness and is believed to reduce the
need for pain relievers during labor and delivery. |
